The buzz around Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is already off the charts as the game grows nearer to its release date. After all, it is yet another opportunity for fans to dive back into the game’s grimdark universe and unleash some serious fury.
Here’s the fun part—even though the game isn’t out yet, a few players are already dreaming up some wild challenge runs just to test how far they can push themselves, and the rest of the community is providing all the support and devising all sorts of strategies to make the runs a success.
Space Marine 2 Isn’t Even Out Yet, and Players Are Already Planning a Challenge Run

With Space Marine 2 delivering more of the same fantasy that Helldivers 2 enamored players with for most of 2024 so far, the community, along with Saber Interactive, already in overdrive to ensure that the game is just as much of a success as Sony’s live-service juggernaut.
For instance, a Reddit post on the potential for completing a melee-only run has everyone readying their Chainswords in anticipation of the game.
Can this game be played with melee only?

The best part of all this is how doable this challenge may be. Even though the game is meant to be played with ranged and melee options, you can undoubtedly pull through the challenge with a few good upgrades and intelligent positioning.
Of course, some parts of the Space Marine 2 may be absolutely brutal without a trusty bolter or plasma gun. Not to mention, finding some way to beat the flying units will also be a significant hurdle in such a run.
Then again, when has any of this stopped the Warhammer 40000 community from going absolutely bonkers at their games? If there’s a will, there’s a way.

Not all is well with the game, however. Although Saber Interactive has shown utmost confidence in its work, people have become slightly unsettled since the recent cancellation of the game’s Public Online Beta.
After all, beta testing is a big deal for a game of this scale. Not only is it the perfect way to catch bugs and smooth out all rough edges before launch, but it is also an unbeatable way to bolster public confidence in your finished product.
Some players are jittery and reconsidering their decision to pre-order, wondering if any hidden issues might slip through the cracks. Saber Interactive continues to claim that the game will meet our lofty expectations, so fingers crossed for now, perhaps?
