With all of this Avengers: Infinity War hype you might have forgotten about a little “one-off” movie that marvel has planned… Captain Marvel.

At first glance, this 90’s space adventure film might seem a little disconnected from the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but this one might prove to be the most “connected” one yet. Last year at San Diego Comic-Con, fans were “surprised” with the official announcement that Oscar Winner Brie Larson would be suiting up for the title role in Marvel’s first female led film. Marvel also broke the news that Samuel L. Jackson as a 90’s Nick Fury would be a part of the production (with both eyes!) as well as Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill.

According to Entertainment Weekly, a few other MCU characters will be getting the 90’s treatment! Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) will be making an appearance as a young S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent.  Coulson has not been seen in the MCU since his “death” at the hands of Loki in the first Avengers movie. Coulson played an important part in the Phase 1 films connecting all of the films together with minor roles in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and Thor. #ItsAllConnected.

The report also revealed that two Guardians of the Galaxy villains will be reprising their roles.  Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) and Korath the Pursuer (Djimon Hounsou) will be returning to play a part in the Kree-Skrull War that the film will be based around. Pace and Hounsou were last seen in their respective roles in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy where Ronan and friends plans to destroy the planet Xandar with the Power Stone (the purple one) were thwarted by the Guardians of the Galaxy.
