One such fight scene, where Battinson fights off goons in a dark hallway to save Selina Kyle, recently resurfaced on social media. Fans praised the fight sequence and hailed the film as the best Batman film in terms of fight choreography.
Robert Pattinson’s One Batman Fight Scene Could Rival Batfleck’s Warehouse Scene
Robert Pattinson‘s The Batman was a critically acclaimed feature from Matt Reeves. While James Gunn has announced that this film was part of the Elseworlds Universe, many fans want Gunn to bring Pattinson into the DCU due to his performance in the 2022 film. Pattinson was quick with his fight moves in the film, which made the combat scenes look extremely cool.
During one scene in the film, Pattinson’s Batman cut off the power supply to take down goons who were holding Zoë Kravitz‘s Selina Kyle hostage in the film. Batman, who could see into the night, walks into a dark hallway where villains start shooting blindly. Each time a muzzle flash goes off, the Caped Crusader gets closer to each of his targets, taking them down.

Pattinson’s dark hallway fight scene could rival Ben Affleck’s warehouse fight scene in Batman vs Superman. While Batfleck’s film received criticism, one of the best parts of the film was the warehouse fight scene choreographed by Damon Caro.
The fight scene highlighted Batman’s strength and required weeks of training and camera testing to execute it perfectly. While Pattinson’s stronghold is his quick moves, Affleck’s strength is his hulking body that breaks through any walls.
Matt Reeves Broke Down Robert Pattinson’s Dark Hallway Fight Scene
During an interview with the ReelBlend podcast, Matt Reeves explained how he came about the idea for the dark hallway fight scene. Reeves explained that they wanted to let audiences know that Batman could see in the dark with his contact lenses. The only way he could do that was to show a horror figure walking towards them as they were taking shots at him.
Reeves’ idea worked even better when Batman came closer and closer as each muzzle flash went off. When the light flashed, he would be beating someone and then it went dark and the cycle continued. Reeves explained the shot to ReelBlend:
I thought, ‘What if he kills the power so the only one who can see is Batman? And how do we know that?’ That we’ll be in this point of view, and the only way we’ll know that is that they’re taking shots at this guy coming like a horror figure.
And the only time you can see where he is, is that each time one of the muzzle flashes goes off, you’ll see him getting closer and closer, and beating somebody, and then it goes black, and in and out and in and out.
Reeves also shared that his initial plan was to use CG Batman but stunt coordinator Rob Alonzo convinced Reeves that they could film it practically. They broke the choreography into segments and later used VFX to enhance the final footage.
