“A heavy bomber carpet bomb with high cooldown”: Helldivers 2 Boss May Have Hinted at a Game-changing Eagle Stratagem Idea

The Helldivers 2 community has been begging Arrowhead Game Studios to add some new weapons, Stratagems, and gear to the game for a while now. The studio needs to address this issue as the game desperately needs a major update to save it from dying. Compared to its first month, Helldivers 2 has lost a significant number of players, to the point where players sometimes struggle to complete Major Order because it requires support from the entire community.

Arrowhead may have realized this now as they are using players’ feedback to understand what they need to add to the game. Last month, Johan Pilestedt, CCO at Arrowhead, asked players to share their best Eagle Stratagem ideas. Pilestedt shared a very interesting concept Stratagem after a player suggested that they should add a “heavy bomber carpet bomb” in the game.

Recently, a player suggested on X that Arrowhead Game Studios could add a “heavy bomber carpet bomb” as a Stratagem in the game. Johan Pilestedt came across this idea and shared a concept of an Eagle Stratagem called “Super Earth Bomber” along with a 3D model of the plane.

Players wonder if this is a hint from Pilestedt, who was previously the CEO of Arrowhead. His new position of Chief Creative Officer at the company allows him to be involved more with the creative team and this Stratagem idea coming from him directly means that there is a high chance that this was discussed at Arrowhead.

Pilestedt also added that reading players’ ideas is way more fun than conference room brainstorming, hinting that they could pick up any idea from players if it has the potential to make it to the game.

Many players gave many great suggestions that Arrowhead can use to make the game much better. For example, a player suggested that there should be something to stop enemies from reinforcing for a short time, Pilestedt liked the idea and suggested that it could be like a disruption beacon.

It is no secret that Arrowhead plans to release a major update for the game to introduce the third faction of the game, the Illuminate. Helldivers 2 needs a lot of improvement, particularly because it will not be able to keep up with the competition, like the upcoming console version of Valorant,  Ubisoft’s XDefiant, and Epic Games’ Fortnite.
