Fans of the Batman Arkham franchise will be excited to learn that a teaser trailer has dropped for the latest title. The upcoming title is scheduled for release in late 2024 and in the trailer, we see confirmation that the world premiere will be at Summer Game Fest on June 7th.
With what can only be described as a rather disappointing offering in the guise of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, many fans will be hoping to put that nightmare behind them and perhaps look forward to a new entry into the franchise which will meet the expectations of fans.
Batman Arkham Shadow – What Do We Know?
Our first look at the trailer is only 49 seconds long and with this, there is no gameplay included. This will no doubt be frustrating for many fans who, when learning of this teaser, were hopeful to learn more of what the game is all about. However, we need to address the elephant in the room.
That’s correct. The game is only available on Meta Quest 3, so those fans who enjoy VR may be delighted by this news but on learning this, there may be numerous fans who are left slightly deflated.
Given that the trailer gives next to nothing away in terms of gameplay, unfortunately, fans will have to play the waiting game to learn further details. However, with a world premiere only a couple of months away, it may be that more details leak in the run-up to this.
Batman Arkham Shadow – Fan Reaction
First impressions of Batman Arkham Shadow have been slightly mixed, with some fans commenting that if the game were to feature Arkham Knight in VR, they would be in favour of this. However, the overwhelming reaction has been as expected when learning that it will be on Meta Quest 3.

There appears to be a common theme with many of the reactions to the trailer on social media site X:

There is no doubt frustration on the part of fans who have enjoyed the Arkham franchise up until lately and with the latest iterations, perhaps feel that WB Games is not giving it the respect it deserves. However, that is not to say that all fans feel this way.
Many fans will still long for a modern game which holds true to the Arkham games of old, which hold a special place for fans. There is still debate about if Batman Arkham City still holds up as one of the best Superhero games.
What’s clear is that this latest offering doesn’t look to threaten this position in the slightest and fans are waiting for an exciting new Batman game to go on.
