Masashi Kishimoto has created a fair share of villains in both Naruto and Boruto that can act as formidable foes to the titular characters and all those who stand beside them. An endless list of some of the most carefully crafted antagonists have a gallery of their own in the world of Naruto. Through Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, a lot of complexities come into play.
While some have been murmuring about the possibility for the series to finally escape the shadow of its predecessor, others can also focus on the fact that it may be bringing elements back to get fans who long since left after the end of Kishimoto’s magnum opus. Villains such as Madara, Obito, and Orochimaru all have their base in Naruto. While the sequel series has its own fair share of characters. However, there may be one villain that fans could see yet again.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Ignites Another Possibility
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex only recently opened up the idea of Kurama perhaps finding a new Jinchuriki not through the titular character or his father, but Himawari instead. That, interestingly enough, may not be where the possibilities end. Another scene altogether may have hinted towards the return of an infamous character in Naruto; Momoshiki.
Momoshiki had been one of the few villains who managed to give both Naruto and Sasuke a hard time, taking the Rasengan of the former and Boruto to ultimately kill him. The latest chapter in the manga may be hinting toward his return. Chapter 9 sees Boruto going face to face against Kawaki. While he manages to win without much hassle, it is the aftermath of this fight that brings curious attention to the possible return of Momoshiki.
Kawaki goes ahead and activates his Karma. Due to resonance, Boruto’s Karma also gets activated; something that then forces him to run away.
Momoshiki Might Not Be Far From Boruto
By resonance, Karma Mode is more than likely to be activated. So to see Boruto’s Karma Mode taking hold of him upon Kawaki’s activation is not out of possibility. However, there is one factor that comes into consideration, the Otsutsuki who has taken over the body will automatically trigger the mode for another shinobi who must be nearby for this phenomenon to even take place.
Momoshiki had long before taken over Boruto’s body, safeguarding it as his own to claim someday. While the very concept is vague throughout the manga and the anime, the Otsutsuki hold the power to create vessels as replacements whenever their bodies get destroyed. These vessels, with time, become compatible.
The sudden focus on his Karma Mode could very well look towards the idea that Momoshiki is more than possibly returning to Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. This hints at the idea that the villain is looking towards a return despite his death long before.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex can be read on both Manga Plus and Viz Media.
