One subtle change in the latest instalment is the removal of the classic Final Kill Cam in multiplayer mode, being replaced with the Best Play highlight instead.

If you’ve been playing Call of Duty games for a while, you know that the Final Kill Cam has been a major highlight. It’s that moment at the end of a match when everyone gets to see the last kill that ends the game. But Black Ops 6 is switching things up, just like 2020’s Cold War did. Instead of the Final Kill Cam, we’re now getting the Best Play of the Match.

Instead of showing the last kill, the game now picks out the most impressive play from the entire match. This is usually multiple kills by a player in a short span, killstreaks are not included. It’s a feature that’s been popular in other FPS games for a while, like Overwatch.

For some players, this is a welcome change. The Best Play feature gives attention to the moments that truly showcase skill, creativity, and even teamwork, not just who happened to get the last kill. It’s about celebrating the coolest and most clutch plays, which can be way more exciting to watch than just the final kill, which is quite often pretty anticlimactic. Plus, it keeps players motivated to pull off awesome plays throughout the game, not just aim for that final kill.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Launches Later This Year

Black Ops 6 is set to release on October 25, 2024. Developed by the combined forces of Treyarch and Raven Software, the game promises a thrilling return to the early 90’s.

The game will bring back the classic 6v6, three-lane map experience with a dozen brand-new maps at launch. To keep things interesting, there will also be 4 unique strike maps designed for tighter gameplay on smaller maps. These strike maps will also feature a 2v2 mode, similar to the Gunfight mode from recent games.

One of the most intriguing and innovative additions to the game is the introduction of omnidirectional movement. This mechanic could significantly change how players navigate the maps. This feature has the potential to add a layer of strategic depth and a faster pace to the gameplay, also making it a lore more strategic and easier to flank enemies.

While details are still under wraps, the game will likely follow a seasonal content model similar to previous titles. This means players can expect a steady stream of new maps, weapons, and customization options. All new maps and weapons will be free to all players.

The initial rumors surrounding the game caused a big panic in the community with talk of a massive 300GB file size. Thankfully, those rumors were quickly dispelled, as the game will probably be around 100-150 GB on its own.
