An Elden Ring player was exploring the map like any other day and discovered an incredible reference to The Lord of the Rings. Naturally, this player recorded the moment, which then went viral on social media.

In particular, the reference points to one of the most epic moments featuring Gandalf, portrayed by popular actor Ian McKellen in Peter Jackson’s film trilogy. This moment was key for the plot.

This particular reference brings to mind one of the most epic yet saddest moments of the first movie. In this scene, Gandalf the Grey stays behind, trying to stop the advance of Balrog with the famous phrase, “You shall not pass.”.

All this happens while the Fellowship of the Ring escapes from this dangerous cave they need to overcome. This is one of the many iconic moments in this fantasy trilogy.

Naturally, the players of this title praised this reference, being more than pleased with the game’s fan community. The various reactions on social media were mostly positive, although some users noted that this reference was not from the game itself but from a player who took advantage of a location that resembled the one in the movie to recreate this scene. Even so, this proves that the FromSoftware IP never stops surprising its community.

Shadow of the Erdtree, the long-awaited Elden Ring expansion that the entire community had wanted to try since its announcement, was finally released on June 21, after months of anticipation.

I'm a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
