Expectations are like a double-edged sword for developers. On one hand, they can give studios like Rockstar Games the hit of dopamine it needs to hone GTA 6’s depth and polish.

On the other hand, studios like Ubisoft use this to market mediocre games like Skull and Bones and call it a “AAAA” title. Given the resources and hype that’s being put into developing GTA 6, maybe it will be an actual game-changer for real?

Art is subjective, and video games are no exception. However, at the time of writing, there are multiple games like Red Red Redemption 2 and GTA 5 that have proven Rockstar’s potential for creating video games that surpass everyone’s expectations.

These are titles that have not only sold well but also symbolized the example of an excellent game. But, what do we even mean by the idea of a perfect game, and how does “AAAA” fit into the picture?

One school of thought would be to mix every nuance of developing a video game and think of how it’s best executed. From voice acting, motion capture, and script, to visuals, density, and realism a video game can take each aspect of game development and showcase it in the best way possible.

GTA 6 is seemingly trying to pull this off, and this might be one of the games that can prove it. This comes from the fact that Rockstar happens to have these resources available and build on everything the studio has done well in the past.
