Fans reportedly observed a design flaw in Halo 3, which the development team failed to address after more than 15 years. This tiny flaw concerns the sniper rifle, where, when the player threw an item or equipment, the rifle’s support mysteriously disappeared and then reappeared out of nowhere.

Having established itself as one of the most important franchises in first-person shooter games, the titles starring the iconic character Master Chief remain some of Microsoft’s most popular. The main story of this saga contains six games in total and several spin-off titles within the same universe. This particular and mysterious hero has survived the most complex scenarios and continues to defend the galaxy.

Recently, a video went viral on X in which a player discovered a small design flaw related to a weapon in Halo 3. This title, originally released for the Xbox 360, is one of the most popular in the franchise, with many players agreeing that it is the best in the IP.

This small design flaw seems to involve the sniper rifle, which has a support that is visible at all times but magically disappears after a specific action.

Bungie Probably Should Have Done a Better Job Detecting This Flaw

In the video, the weapon’s support is always visible until the player throws an item to the ground or somewhere else. When the player does this, the sniper rifle’s tripod completely disappears, as if it had never existed.

Fans of the game quickly commented on this post, stating that they had never noticed this flaw, which had gone virtually undetected for all these years. This kind of detail didn’t affect the gameplay.

The user’s gameplay recording clearly shows how the tripod completely disappears for a few seconds before reforming once the player stops throwing the item.

The quality team may have overlooked this minor design flaw when releasing Halo 3 in 2007. This flaw is aesthetic and does not influence gameplay. Players have no issues with it. The game is still considered one of the best in this franchise, both in multiplayer and story.

The Halo saga is going through a rather difficult time because the latest games in the franchise, designed by 343 Industries, are not what fans were expecting. Even the last title seemed to promise much more and ended up being a disappointment for players. This franchise used to be the flagship of the console, but now it has been overshadowed by the poor quality of the latest titles.

I'm a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
