Hollywood star Henry Cavill has shared a shoutout to his co-star Alan Ritchson in a new Instagram post. The actor is set to share the screen with the Reacher star in the upcoming spy action comedy, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Directed by Guy Ritchie, the film is inspired by real historical events about how the UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill started a secret group during World War II, who was able to pull off some major wins against Nazis.
Cavill, who is taking on the role of Gus March-Phillipps in the film, has only added to the anticipation surrounding the upcoming movie, as he shared a playful on-set banter between him and Ritchson on Instagram.

Henry Cavill recently took to Instagram to share a little “shoutout” to his co-star Alan Ritchson. The post features a brief clip with the two actors talking about each other. Ritchson, known for starring in shows like Reacher and Titans, shares some kind words for Cavill, as he described him as a “perfect number one.”
“Henry is a perfect number-one. He is the first one there, last to leave, always knows his stuff, is always positive, and he leads by example. I am so impressed.”
Cavill, however, makes an interesting choice of words, as he goes on to criticize his co-star. “Alan’s a terrible person to work with. He’s uncouth, eats too much, he’s out of shape. He has no dedication at all,” Cavill playfully says of his co-star.
However, the actor breaks out of his character to share his genuine admiration for Ritchson, saying, “In all seriousness, Alan’s wonderful to work with.” He also highlighted that the upcoming film features Alan Ritchson doing some “cool stuff” in the caption of the post as he playfully referred to him as “Big AL.”
Ritchson responded to Cavill’s Instagram shoutout with humor, joking about deleting a previous post where he expressed negative feelings towards Cavill. The Ordinary Angels star is taking on the role of a real-life Danish soldier, Anders Lassen, in the upcoming film.

Based on Damien Lewis’ 2014 book Churchill’s Secret Warriors: The Explosive True Story of the Special Forces Desperadoes of WWII, Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare draws inspiration from real historical events.
The film offers a heavily fictionalized portrayal of Operation Postmaster, following members of the covert British World War II organization, the Special Operations Executive. Commissioned by Winston Churchill in 1940, their mission involved espionage and sabotage in Nazi-occupied Europe.
Anticipation for the film has grown among fans, fueled by the trailer and a recently released clip that provides an intricate look at the characters. The ensemble cast includes Eiza González, Henry Golding, Alex Pettyfer, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, and Babs Olusanmokun, alongside Cavill and Ritchson.
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is set to release on April 19, 2024.
