The Boys series on Amazon has enthralled audiences ever since its first season in 2019. The superhero series differentiated itself from the top studios churning out films in the genre by its satiric take on the genre and the current political climate. Additionally, the show goes hard with its action and violence while also providing complex characters.

The universe expanded last year with the spin-off series Gen V featuring a whole new cast and characters that were a part of The Boys. Audiences might be surprised to know that one of the actors who played a recurring role in the show was Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son, who did an amazing job in it.

Gen V opened up the world of The Boys in exciting yet surprising ways with fascinating new characters along with the franchise’s signature gory violence. Focusing on Godolkin University’s efforts to find new members of the Seven, the main superhero roster were played by Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, and Asa Germann.
Another actor who had a recurring role as Golden Boy in the show was Patrick Schwarzenegger, who infamously commits s*icide in the premiere episode of the series. Audiences might be familiar with the actor’s last name and their immediate guess would be the right one.
The actor playing Luke/ Golden Boy in Gen V is in fact Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s son. On X, audiences were surprised to know about this fact recently while never putting the dots together while watching the show. Here are some of the reactions,

Schwarzenegger impressed fans with his performance in the series, showcasing the complex side of the character through Sam’s visions, and the flashbacks. He channeled his dad’s intensity and gravitas for the role, while being incredibly believable as the leading candidate to become the newest member of The Seven until chaos ensued.
Eric Kripke Does Not Want Fans To Do ‘Homework’ While Experiencing The Boys Universe

Eric Kripke is opening up the universe of The Boys with last year’s Gen V and the upcoming untitled Mexican spinoff series. When Homelander appeared in the finale of Gen V, audiences believed that The Boys and Gen V would become fully interconnected with season 4 of The Boys. However, Kripke has a different approach with respect to how these properties connect.
In an interview with Variety, Kripke stated that there will be references and Easter Eggs throughout each series which alludes to an interconnected universe. However, he does not plan for an ensemble team-up film featuring characters from both properties where audiences have to catch up on one series to understand what is going on currently. The showrunner said,
I like the idea that there’s strands and Easter eggs that kind of pop back and forth, but full team up — no. I live in total fear of this notion that you have to watch both of them to understand the other one.
The trailers of season 4 of The Boys have teased that some familiar faces from Gen V will appear in the new season. It remains to be seen how Kripke handles the interconnectivity of the two shows while also not making each show ‘mandatory viewing’ to understand the other.
Fans can watch both shows on Prime Video.
