It has been a slow few days for Helldivers 2 after the recent major orders that have caused players to implode a planet into a black hole, and to choose between saving children and acquiring anti tank mines, but now players have begun to notice something rather horrifying during the recent major order.

When it comes to Helldivers 2, players can expect a short story dump as we are able to witness changes within the galaxy whether by our hands or by those we cannot see. But now, it seems that Arrowhead wants to drop a few hints towards the future of the game.

Helldivers 2 Teases an Upcoming Terminid Enemy Within the Recent Major Order

Helldivers 2 could be bringing in a new enemy type for players to suffer against.

For those who may not know, the recent major order that Helldivers 2 is tasking players to complete is to push the Terminid threat back further to the edge of space by liberating 5 separate planets, while also using a unique drill to drill into the planets we are liberating to clear space for repopulation.

However, it seems that Helldivers have begun to notice something isn’t right with the planets we are clearing, as players have begun to notice sounds coming from within the planets, along with some skeletons or shedding’s being left behind throughout the planet’s surface.

What makes these skeletons/sheddings interesting is the fact that they resemble a well-known enemy from the first game, which is the Hive Lords. This enemy type was long thought to be driven away, but from what we can see on the planet, there is the potential for their revival.

Upon first glance, these points of interest do look relatively skeleton-like, as a majority of these skeletons or shedding’s sometimes have heads, mouths, spinal columns, and even teeth, but there are some players who have noticed that only the shells from the Hive Lords back are the only things that can be seen from these leavings, which has many players worried.

Gamers are afraid these skeletons could be something even more horrifying.

Throughout Helldivers 2’s short life span, there have been many different enemies that have made their way into the game that players were never expecting, whether that be the shrieker variant that players actively created by completing a major order or the stalker variant of the Terminids and its invisibility.

Now players are afraid that this is only the beginning, as the Hive Lords are being teased in a rather small way and require players to actually take notice of the world around them, similar to how only a select group of players were able to encounter the shriekers once they entered the galaxy.

If this is the case, then players should begin to prepare their arsenals for a major fight, as the Hive Lords are nothing to mess with and could even be a potential boss fight if this theory of them shedding their skin and growing larger is anything to go by.
