Antony Starr‘s Homelander has done some horrifying and heinous things over the three seasons of The Boys. However, his actions in the latest episode doubled down on the fact that he is a deeply flawed and irredeemable evil psychopath.
In a new interview with Business Insider, Starr revealed that the episode where Homelander got to revisit his past was his favorite one this season. The actor stated that his favorite part of paying Homelander is going deep down into his darker side, which exposes his vulnerabilities and ugliness. Starr said,
That’s actually my favorite episode of the season. I think we worked on it a bit and then went to set and kind of just let it rip. That’s what I’m really interested in with the character, is going into the deeper, dark places and the vulnerabilities.
Audiences have loved Starr’s performance in this episode and many have considered it to be Emmy-worthy (via ScreenRant).
