Fans of gaming in general were little by little falling in love with the Dark Souls saga, but this was not all; this game generated its own sub-genre, the Soulslike. The majority of these titles were directed by the talented Hidetaka Miyazaki, a director that From Software has made a complete success of games like Elden Ring that sold more than 20 million units.

One of the most influential game directors of the past two decades is, without a doubt, Hidetaka Miyazaki. This director made the Dark Souls games, giving birth to a new kind of sub-genre that is one of the most popular in the current games. Other games that came after Dark Souls or in between perfected all these mechanics almost perfectly, titles like Elden Ring, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and, of course, Bloodborne. In a recent interview with GamesRadar, Miyazaki talked about the legacy of Bloodborne

Miyazaki mentioned a lot of things that Bloodborne had, like the setting or what the inspirations for the art of the game were. He even talked about the difference between developing on the PS3 and the PS4. When asked about his thoughts on the future legacy of Bloodborne, he responded, “To be frank, it all boils down to having fun. No matter what kind of legacy or reputation this title leaves a decade down the road, if the players had fun playing it, I’d be more than satisfied.”

The legacy of Bloodborne that fans really cherish is that the game made it to PC

Miyazaki has always talked about his ultimate goal being that players really have fun and could overcome the frustration of the difficulty and enjoy themselves even more to surpass a boss or level. He is really grateful for the fans’ reception of his games. He really loves to make games and will continue to do so in the upcoming years. Bloodborne was the only exclusive game that From Software released for PS4.

At the moment, Hidetaka Miyazaki and From Software are working on the Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree. Miyazaki claims that this will be the studio’s largest expansion to date. This content will be available on June 21 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. The Elden Ring base game will be needed to play the DLC.

I'm a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
