This revelation came when he was asked about his favorite enemy or boss from his past three games which included Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne. The interviewer also asked him about the reason for the same.

All in all, I have a very personal bond with this character.

This is because he was the one who went on to design Old Monk’s head collar. Moreover, the boss who as of now is liked by many, initially faced opposition when Miyazaki first pitched his idea to the development team. Therefore, the Old Monk as a boss holds a very special place in Miyazaki’s heart.

Interestingly, as was the case with Old Monk during Demon’s Souls, Miyazaki initially was not taken seriously when he pitched the idea of Radahn during Elden Ring’s development phase. However, the FromSoftware’s team went ahead with the idea and today he is one of the most iconic optional bosses present in the game.
