In 2014, when they were still together, Affleck starred in Gone Girl that happened to have a few intimate scenes including a full frontal n*de scene that had previously never been attempted by the actor before. Garner hilariously revealed how the Argo star, in his typical deadpan manner, explained how this sequence happened, and her epic reply to it.
Jennifer Garner Recalled Ben Affleck’s Bold N*de Scene In Gone Girl
It is only natural that actors, who are also real-life couples, could face the rather uncomfortable task of seeing each other doing intimate n*de scenes with someone else even though it is strictly professional. Former couple Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck too were part of this list when they were still together.

The Love, Simon actor and the Good Will Hunting star though, have also famously known to have a sense of humor which was an integral part of their relationship when they were husband and wife. This was evident during one of Garner’s interviews when she hilariously explained Affleck describing a bold n*de scene that he did in his 2014 film, Gone Girl.
Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the Nine Lives star was put on the spot by the host when she was asked to comment on this particular scene, which was also the first time the Justice League star had attempted full frontal n*dity on screen. Replying to DeGeneres’ commenting on her husband’s private parts, she sportingly stated,
His p*nis. I think you’re probably on to something. What I have to say is, you’re welcome. I try to consider myself a charitable person. And I wanted to give back.
When asked if she was nervous about seeing her then-husband willing to go down this road, Garner had audiences in spilts as she imitated Affleck and his explanation about this scene and how it came to be, followed by her epic reply.
Yeah, it was a discussion. It was like, ‘Hey, you know, at work today, Fincher talked me into coming out of the shower.’ I was like, ‘Oh, cool. Well, I hope he had on a wide lens’
Jokes aside, the Yes Day star believed that any commitment to a film, was all or nothing. She stated that if an actor decided to push the envelope for a character, then he or she must see it through with conviction.
Garner Struggled With A Love Scene After Split With Ben Affleck
In 2015, actors Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck called it quits after a decade of marriage. A few months later, Garner was back on set filming Wakefield with Bryan Cranston which was based on E. L. Doctorow’s story about a man who fakes his own death to observe his spouse secretly from their attic.

The 13 Going on 30 star who played Cranston’s wife in the film, admitted that she faced a few difficult moments during the filming of a love scene with the Breaking Bad actor. Having been single for a few months since her divorce from Affleck, Garner revealed to Vanity Fair that she was completely out of touch with intimacy, but also infused her irresistible sense of humor into her explanation of the situation.
When you haven’t been kissed for over eight months it’s strange. But it’s my job. It’s nine in the morning and you think, I could really use a shot of alcohol. Then, after a take or two, after everyone has seen your b**bs and love handles, you just want to take every crew member and be like, ‘Please have mercy on me!’
While these were tough times for Garner, the Alias actor ensured that she and Affleck saw the bigger picture which involved the upbringing of their kids, and managed to nurture a healthy relationship with each other even after their divorce.
Gone Girl can be streamed on Apple TV.
