Major Spoilers for House of the Dragon

There’s no denying the fact that Westeros is a brutal place. From assassins to sellswords, the events of House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones have made it pretty clear that it is a brutal world.

With brothers fighting brothers, George R. R. Martin introduced the world to Sandor and Gregor Clegane. But many years before them, it was Ser Erryk and Ser Arryk Cargyll, and their story, is a tragic one.

Ser Erryk Fell On His Sword For Two Reasons

It might seem at first that Ser Erryk Cargyll (portrayed by Elliott Tittensor) fell on his own sword because of guilt. Having to kill his own brother because of two different royal families, the guilt was heavy on Ser Erryk’s mind.

However, as we know with Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, everything is not what it seems. Although Erryk Cargyll had a real sense of honor in his purpose (which is rare in Westeros), the end for the twin brothers was not pretty.

In an interview, series showrunner Ryan Condal had to give the people an explanation that there were two reasons why Ser Erryk fell on his own sword. The first one was obvious, he felt the guilt of killing his own brother.

The second one, as Ryan Condal said to Decider, was a little bit more on the practical side of things.

Fans stated that the scene was indeed pretty self-explanatory with people taking to X and stating “I thought that was pretty clear”. As intense as that scene was, showrunner Ryan Condal also had nothing but praise for the actors Elliott Tittensor and his twin brother Luke Tittensor.

The showrunner revealed that the twin brothers came up with the entire thing themselves! From the fight choreography to the emotions that they had to show, Condal was all praise.

Ryan Condal’s House of the Dragon Has An Incredible Cast

Even Game of Thrones‘ casting was stellar. However, it seems that the cast of House of the Dragon is reaching for the ceiling with dedication and love for the iconic franchise.

An example of this love was the incredible talent of the Tittensor brothers who portrayed Ser Errky and Arryk Cargyll in the show. As the interview further continued, Condal revealed that the Tittensor brothers were nothing short of amazing!

Look, they’re amazing actors and performers. They did that entire thing themselves. They studied that choreography. They learned it from Rowley [Irlam], the stunt coordinator. They did that whole fight on their own and it’s so incredible and moving.

Well, the scene was certainly moving, as people felt the loss of two brothers getting killed in a war because of honor. House of the Dragon is on the march towards further success as the second season has been making rounds on the internet.

The series received a rating of 8.4/10 on IMDB and a whopping 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.
