You can say all you want about Marvel, but if there’s one thing that will have even haters’ eyes water, it’s the beautiful solidarity among the Avengers.

The Avengers Family Is Jeremy Renner’s Ride Or Die

Much of last year was a time of intractable pain for Jeremy Renner who was on death’s doorstep after a near-fatal snowplowing accident. While the Hawkeye star has recovered tremendously ever since and is in good shape at present, he’d been in dire straits for a while before recuperation. Thank the heavens for his Avengers family though, who stood by his side through thick and thin.

In an interview for the July/August cover of Men’s Health magazine, Renner, 53, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for his MCU co-stars who showered him with bouts of unconditional love and support after his horrific accident. While Falcon star Anthony Mackie and Ant-Man actor Paul Rudd visited him at the hospital, Robert Downey Jr. was always making Renner’s day via FaceTime.

Oh, f**k yeah, it’s a real thing—it’s not just for Instagram. We f**kin’ hate that shit. No, we have a family chat and have for a long time. When you work with people…look, we all went through a culturally significant experience together […] There’s a brotherhood or sisterhood or whatever the heck you want to call it. I just call it love. I love every one of them. I’d rather go to jail with Downey than go do something amazing by myself. I’d rather get in a car crash with Evans.

The Avengers star made it clear as day that the bond he shares with the rest of the superhero team is as solid as it appears across the films and on social media platforms, perhaps even more so.

Scarlett Johansson & Chris Evans Visited Jeremy Renner At His Home

While many of Renner’s Marvel co-stars visited him at the hospital and offered overwhelming support through social media, some of his teammates, including Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans, went to see The Bourne Legacy star at his home.

“I was honestly so fucking happy to see him. I didn’t know if I was ever going to see him again,” Johansson, 39, disclosed to Variety in a recent interview. “On the ‘Avengers’ text chain, we’re like, ‘Ok, you beat us all. That’s it. You won.’ That’s like real superhero stuff. It’s unbelievable.”

Meanwhile, the Captain America star remarked how their reunion was all about hearty laughter and hugs, leaving no room for tears. “Leave it to Jeremy to take something this potentially tragic and turn it into something so inspiring,” Evans said.

After a year of rehabilitation, physical therapy, and immense patience, Renner came back to the game this year to shoot season 3 of Mayor of Kingstown which aired this month itself.
