The rivalry between One Piece and Naruto fans is one of the biggest online feuds in the history of the anime and manga industry. Although One Piece started a little before Naruto, both series and their creators, Eiichiro Oda and Masashi Kishimoto, have competed to be at the top of the anime and manga world. This competition has helped them get better at their work and make some of the greatest storylines and narratives of all time.

However, One Piece fans recently found a connection when they realized that an iconic character from Oda’s magnum opus was played by the voice actor of Naruto, Junko Takeuchi. This character is none other than Luffy’s sworn brother Sabo, who is also the chief of staff of the Revolutionary Army.

Sabo and Naruto Share the Same Voice Actor

Sabo is one of the most important characters in One Piece. His past with Luffy and Ace and his current adventures as a Revolutionary Army member make him extremely significant to the One Piece story. He is going to have a major role in the finale of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, as he is the only one other than the Five Elders who has seen Imu.

Another thing that makes Sabo iconic is the voice actor who played him as his child version. The character is voiced by Junko Takeuchi, who is famous for her roles as Takuya Kanbara in Digimon Frontier, Rin Natsuki in Yes! PreCure 5, Metabee in Medabots, Mamoru Endou in Inazuma Eleven, Gon Freecss in Hunter × Hunter (1999), etc.

However, the biggest role that she has played is probably that of Naruto Uzumaki in Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto. She has played the role of both Naruto as a kid and as an adult. She even played Naruto’s role in the sequel spin-off series, Boruto. Not only that, but she has also played the role of Naruto in the video game adaptations of the series.

One Piece Fans Are in Shock After Finding Out The Truth About Sabo

Although the current Sabo is voiced by Toru Furuya in One Piece, his childhood version shares the same voice actor as Naruto, and this is a shocking revelation for One Piece and anime fans in general, as they never realized it earlier.

Also, the fact that Sabo and Naruto look a little bit similar with yellow hair, goggles, and a tall build makes it even more startling for One Piece fans.

exd_shadow shared this revelation with One Piece fans on Instagram, and it got some unique responses in the comment section.

While some fans were amazed to find the similarity, others started calling him different names, like Sabo Uzumaki.

Although anime fans are startled by the revelation, these kinds of overlapping are quite common in the anime industry. There are many other voice actors who have contributed to both One Piece and Naruto. Some of the biggest examples are Kaguya Otsutsuki and Big Mom, Gaara and Cavendish, Kaido, and Kurama, etc.
You can watch One Piece on Crunchyroll and Naruto on Hulu.
