During an interview, Luke Grimes revealed an interesting aspect of working with Sheridan. While many would find it extremely frustrating, the actor actually enjoys it quite a lot.

Luke Grimes Reveals Taylor Sheridan’s Vision For Yellowstone

Luke Grimes’ Kayce Dutton has become a beloved and cherished character in Yellowstone. As the end of the series approaches, many fans have wondered how the series is going to end, and it would seem that the actor has not shied away from talking about it. During a 2021 interview with Entertainment Weekly, he revealed the vision Taylor Sheridan had for the future and the inevitable end of the series.

The actor revealed that no one on the cast or crew knows how the show ends other than Sheridan himself. This is quite unconventional, as actors often know the fates their characters are going to meet at some point in the story. However, the director has a different vision for how the actors are going to find out about their endings.

He likes us to experience the way the audience experiences it and I think he’s also kind of writing it as it goes as well,

I know he knows how this whole thing ends, ‘cause he told me that. But I have no idea what that is.

Rather than telling them, he wants the actors to find out about the story. As the story progresses and arcs are executed, they will get to experience the story along with the audience and be surprised by what he has planned. Sheridan is so dedicated to this vision that during the early season, he would not even write the endings down.

Luke Grimes Does Not Mind The Mystery

Many actors might mind such an approach toward a project. Kevin Costner famously had an issue with being kept in the dark, and it caused a drastic rift between the two. However, it would seem that Luke Grimes has a different perspective on the entire thing, as he revealed during the interview.

I actually like it that way. It’s a good way to approach everything. It feels like you’re living a second life. Life’s that way.

Grimes revealed that he enjoys being unaware of how Yellowstone is going to end, even enjoying not knowing where Kayce Dutton’s story is going to take him. Experiencing the life of his character firsthand is almost a thrilling journey for the actor. He even went as far as to compare it to living two lives.

Yellowstone is available for streaming on Peacock.
