When Chuck Lorre Went To Comic-Con With The Big Bang Theory Cast
It was the year 2007 when the world was introduced to Jim Parsons‘ Sheldon Cooper alongside fellow scientists Leonard and Raj, and one engineer, Howard. However, the series’ fame skyrocketed within a few months after its release.
It was Comic-Con when the cast of The Big Bang Theory alongside showrunners Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady went for some fun. However, as per Prady, the amount of fame and love that they received was unprecedented.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Chuck Lorre shared that the amount of people who came to meet the cast and get their autographs was quite overwhelming for the moment.
I remember that after our first season we went to Comic-Con and I thought it was a horrible idea There was an autograph signing afterward and I was sitting there next to Jim and people were coming up to him and they were crying.
He further continued,
They were crying tears of joy to be getting an autograph from Jim Parsons. The characters meant so much to them that it was like getting autographs from The Beatles.
On the other hand, co-creator Bill Prady shared another entertaining tale about the Comic-Con because when they first went to visit the event, no one actually knew who they were.
From walking the entire floor of the Comic-Con to seeing G.I. Joe, the cast of The Big Bang Theory had quite the fun before fame surrounded them, as Prady shared.

Although Lorre stated that this was the first year of Comic-Con, co-creator Prady quickly corrected him and stated that it was actually the second year. Furthering the talks, Prady shared that the first year was actually quite awesome for them.
Upon its release, The Big Bang Theory didn’t exactly became the next Game of Thrones as the series took its time to develop. However, going to Comic-Con was something that the entire cast was excited about.
As the interview continued, Prady revealed that the difference between their first and second visit to Comic-Con was something completely different.
Yeah, the difference between the first and second year was incredible. We had this amazing crowd the first year, but the guys were still able to exist out in the world. We even walked the Comic-Con floor that first year.
He further continued,
The cast would get looks, but they were still able to blend in. I remember because Johnny wanted to walk around and see the G.I. Joe stuff. [In the second year] We were put in a bigger hall that year and the cast literally couldn’t be outside or they would have been mobbed. They couldn’t move without security.
From dressing up as DC characters to meeting Stan Lee in The Excelsior Acquisition, the iconic American sitcom ran for 12 seasons and ended its run in 2019.
With an iconic cast, The Big Bang Theory received a rating of 8.1/10 on IMDB and a whopping 81% on Rotten Tomatoes. The show is available to stream on Max in the U.S.
