Hidetaka Miyazaki, the renowned director responsible for creating amazing video games such as Elden Ring and the Dark Soul series, was made the president of FromSoftware back in 2014. The studio has seen immense growth ever since, and there is no doubt he plays a major role in it.
While the director got to sit at the top of the hierarchy himself, there has been arguably no change in how they used to make the games than before, which is surprising as one would focus on maximizing profits after they achieve such a position. When asked about the same via Kotaku, Miyazaki revealed how that is not the case.

Dark Souls 3 was a phenomenal hit for the studio, and it was followed by other successful games such as Elden Ring and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. All of this came after Hidetaka Miyazaki was promoted to president, which, as stated before, is surprising as one usually tends to go after profits instead of quality after achieving such a title.
When asked if he was concerned with making money for the company, the director disclosed-
“No. It’s actually the opposite. If we avoided risks, we wouldn’t have positioned this game to be a turning point in the series and an end to the current storyline. I believe the new projects we will be announcing will show our stance and direction we’re headed to.“
He essentially revealed how he aims quite differently than others in the same position as him, as avoiding risks would not have allowed him to go all out with Dark Souls 3, the game that proved his excellence as a director as well as a president for the company.
A decade later in 2024, the studio has grown significantly, and so has the production quality of the video game titles. With new elements being added in every new release, the director has mentioned how Elden Ring is better than all the other releases due to one particular feature.
