In the big reveal, he came into the stream completely decked out in a Starscourge Radahn cosplay, one of the most iconic boss fights from the base game, and immediately set the energy for the rest of the stream.

His room was just as decorated as he was, the visuals and ambiance matching the dark, mysterious, and enchanting atmosphere of the game. Not to mention the life-size statue of Malenia at the back that came straight from Bandai Namco.

From detailed props to ambient lighting, Cenat and his team nailed it, and the effort isn’t going unnoticed by fans. Cenat usually goes the extra mile for his streams, but this might be one of his best setups to date.

From Zero to Hero: Cenat’s FromSoftware Journey

One did not simply watch Cenat take down Malenia without fully getting invested.

Cenat’s initial foray into the world of FromSoftware games was nothing short of legendary. Up until recently, he had never played a FromSoftware or Soulslike game before, yet decided to do a marathon stream of Elden Ring. Being as popular as it was, his decision already had garnered a lot of attention, but no one expected his streams to blow up to the level of popularity that they did.

He aimed to complete the game within 100 hours, but completing the journey proved to be a much more tumultuous task, as it took him more than 160 hours in reality.

Kai Cenat Beats MALENIA in Elden Ring

Even if you know nothing about Cenat, you might have heard about his battle against Malenia, widely considered the hardest boss in the game. With no armor or summons, he suffered 400 deaths over 30 hours, until he finally felled her.

Some people might be confused as to why his streams seem so popular; ultimately, he’s just some dude playing some game.

It’s much deeper than that, however. His journey reflects those who underwent something similar. Whichever FromSoftware game was your first, we can all relate to the struggle of trying to shake off each death and tackle each challenge Miyazaki throws us, head-on.

Watching Cenat go from a complete newbie to someone who beat Malenia completely on his own is the zero-to-hero story we all love to see.
