After Matt Reeves concluded the Caesar saga of the rebooted Planet of the Apes film series in 2017, Wes Ball has taken over the reins and his Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes will be in theatres soon.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes by Matt Reeves went on to earn about $100+ million worldwide during its opening weekend (via Variety). Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes by Wes Ball is the fourth movie to be released in the rebooted film series. Set in the far future, the movie stars Owen Teague in the lead along with Freya Allan, Peter Macon, Kevin Durand, and more.

The movie’s events will take place over 300 years after the last film by Matt Reeves and will be focused on a young ape called Noa and a human woman called Mae, played by Freya Allan.

Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.

Made against a budget of over $160 million, the PG-13 movie will be released across 3,700+ theatres in the US (via Deadline) on May 10, 2024. Meanwhile, the rest of the Planet of the Apes movies can be streamed on Hulu.
