For months, Marvel fans have been speculating that pop star Taylor Swift will star as either Dazzler or Lady Deadpool in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine. There was no confirmation or denial of the rumor so the word just kept on circling back and forth on social media.
Now, a new behind-the-scene photo of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively on the set of the third film has been making rounds on the Internet, and there’s been buzz again about Swift or Lively’s possible appearance.
Shawn Levy On Taylor Swift’s Potential MCU Debut
Director Shawn Levy previously reacted to the rumors of Taylor Swift making her cinematic debut in the Marvel universe after the singer was spotted hanging out with him, Ryan Reynolds, and Hugh Jackman at a Kansas City Chiefs game. The filmmaker told ET Online:
That is hardly confirmed nor denied in this interview… All that’s known is that I went to a football game, and those hours were well-documented and that’s all I’m gonna say. What can I say? I think intrigue is fun.
Swift was speculated to play Dazzler in the upcoming movie, but this remained a hunch among fans. Levy found these casting rumors “hilarious” and he’s very much amused with it.
I’ll just say that the proliferation of Deadpool 3 casting rumors is hilarious, and also really useful because now there’s no way for people to tell what’s real and what’s not. So I can just sit back and just let the wave of accuracy and falsehood wash over me.
Apart from Swift, Reynolds’ wife and Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively is also the subject of talks that she would be playing Lady Deadpool. A glimpse of the new character in the latest trailer fueled more guesses that the Green Lantern star is indeed in Deadpool & Wolverine.
One piece of evidence that fans hold on to is her blonde locks. Another is a viral set photo that showed the couple sharing an intimate gesture.

The movie is just around the corner now and it seems like there will be no confirmation happening. The team would absolutely want this to be a massive surprise for the audience. Reynolds previously said in an interview that he’s glad some things about the film haven’t been leaked on the internet.
Perhaps it’s better to just wait for the film and enjoy it as it is. Lady Deadpool’s actress reveal is meant to be a surprise anyway.
