One of the recent announcements made for PlayStation 5’s lineup of upcoming titles is a game that is set in the universe of one of the biggest games on the platform. Lego Horizon Adventures arrives during the Holidays this year and blends Aloy’s adventures into Lego’s perception of the world.
Out of all the details that have been revealed about the game, a small one certainly takes the spotlight. Instead of having locked 30 frames per second, the game will support a Performance Mode that allows users to experience a smoother framerate.
Lego Horizon Adventures Can Be Experienced at 60 FPS
When user Shinobi602 helped highlight key features from the game on Twitter, important information became clearer. From stop-motion style animations to custom outfits, Lego Horizon Adventures is looking to break through the horizons set by games based in the Lego universe.
Even with all the exciting features that help the game stand out, there’s one feature in the game that is pretty much a trend for modern consoles at this point. Lego Horizon Adventures will have a Performance Mode option that will let it run at 60 FPS. This means a smoother and richer gameplay experience, even though the visual fidelity may not feel as sharp.

▪️Made in Unreal Engine 5, features ray-tracing
▪️Two modes on PS5: Fidelity (30FPS), Performance (60FPS)
▪️Roughly 7-8 hours long with 'elements of replayability'

However, for those looking forward to experiencing the game in better visuals with a lower framerate (30 FPS), Fidelity mode will be the way to go. Both of these framerates aim to provide a powerful experience since they’ll likely be locked and won’t face drops in frames regardless of the mode players choose.
Having a minimum of 60 FPS in games is a must for many players in the present era of gaming, and Lego Horizon Adventures is going to please a big chunk of the player base looking forward to smoother gameplay.
Did Xbox’s Hellblade 2 Miss the Mark With This One?
With every title that helps Sony brand its console better, there’s an aim for polish and quality that often becomes a benchmark for other companies to care about. This was almost the case with Xbox earlier this year when Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 came out.
Even though the game has been received well by most players, the lack of a Performance Mode (60 FPS) on Xbox consoles. Players may have assumed that the powerful Xbox Series X could handle this better, but that’s simply not the case.
Despite the game itself being a masterful entry into the franchise, the lack of an option that could potentially improve the experience never helped anyone. It may leave a bitter aftertaste for those looking forward to playing the title in better framerates. Something that PC players have the luxury of.
Do you think that large single-player games like Hellblade 2 need a 60 FPS mode? On the other hand, does Lego Horizon Adventure need one? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below.
