Hugh Jackman has done wonders for the big screens, and he doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon despite nearing his late fifties. Besides fulfilling millions of fans’ wishes by returning as Wolverine in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine, he seems to have another action project lined up, though this time, it is reportedly with Jodie Comer and filmmaker Michael Sarnoski.
This project is none other than The Death of Robin Hood. And yes, after his dear friend Russell Crowe left behind the mantle following the mixed reviews his 2010 movie on Hood received, Jackman is seemingly picking it back up for his version of Hood. That said, he might as well end up righting the wrongs of the 2010 film with a Logan-like movie on the legendary outlaw hero.
Hugh Jackman Buckling Up for Robin Hood? Seems like it
According to most recent reports from Variety, Jackman’s next project seems to be The Death of Robin Hood. However, his version of this legendary hero would be different than the past ones, with this one reportedly showing the hero “grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder.”
Jackman will be starring alongside Jodie Comer, the actress from Killing Eve, for this Michael Sarnoski-helmed piece which will notably see Hood as “a battle-worn loner [who] finds himself gravely injured and in the hands of a mysterious woman, who offers him a chance at salvation.”
That being said, this is also a chance for the Deadpool & Wolverine actor to right the wrongs done to his close friend Russell Crowe‘s film on the hero from 2010, Robin Hood. Although quite a few fans admired it, the movie still ended up with mixed critical reviews from critics and general viewers.
However, Hugh Jackman can just end up erasing all of those mistakes and responses that his close friend’s piece received by creating his own masterpiece version of Hood by taking a Logan-like approach to it. This theme would inevitably perfectly fit with the description the film currently has.
As expected, fans are agreeing with the same. Not only are they hailing Jackman’s reported involvement with the franchise as a good idea, but they are also excited to see if they actually take the same route to tame his version of the character as they did in Jackman’s 2017 masterpiece.
Fans are Excited About Hugh Jackman Playing Hood
Needless to say, Jackman holds the potential to nail it in any and every role, which has been evident from all his previous pieces of masterworks. This is why fans aren’t doubting him with the role, but are instead looking forward to seeing just how he molds the character to perfection with the theme.
Reacting to this news on X, here are all the opinions fans have on this matter:
Make a Logan-style Robin Hood movie with Jackman. Don’t tie it in with any cinematic universe what-so-ever. Just do a rough, beautiful, emotional tale about an older Hoodie. Have Michael Saronski direct. Give him full control. Watch the box office explode

Judging from all of these reviews, fans are beyond excited about the mere prospect of seeing Jackman in a movie that aligns with the themes of his previous masterpiece from 2017, which was the tenth movie in the X-Men film series.
Who knows, it just might end up surpassing everyone’s expectations the same way that the iconic Wolverine portrayer always manages to do!
Jackman’s film on Hood will reportedly start its production in February 2025. Meanwhile, you can watch Logan on Disney+.
