Hideo Kojima and Konami have not gotten along very well ever since he departed from the company in 2015 to venture on his own. Metal Gear is one of the earliest examples of the stealth game genre, and Kojima was the mastermind behind it. Kojima has not collaborated with Konami since his falling out, but he is going to be a part of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater in one way.

Kojima will be a part of the franchise in spirit only; that is the only way he and his team are going to be a part of the latest title. Referring to Kojima’s involvement with the game, Okamura said:

Mr. Kojima and all the original staff are ofcourse credited for their original roles. They were already included in the Masters Collection and they’ll be listed in MGSD: Snake Eater too. They are a part of these games too, so absolutely they are in.

It’s normal that Kojima is not really a part of this game, as the relationship between him and Konami has soured to a place of no return. After Kojima departed from Konami to venture on his own, he was also allegedly not allowed by Konami to attend that year’s Game Awards.

All fans are hoping for is that this new remake is closer to its source and turns out to be 1:1 and not Americanized like Twins Snakes. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a remake of Metal Gear 3: Snake Eater, which was directed by Hideo Kojima.

Metal Gears Solid Delta: Snake Eater has big shoes to fill, considering the huge legacy of its predecessors. Hideo Kojima has been an integral part of the Metal Gears franchise since its inception and he has managed to revolutionize the way stealth games are looked at.

Nevertheless, the reveal trailer of the latest game looks promising, however Konami will really need to buckle up to give a promising experience.
