Call of Duty has been around for the last two decades and gave a handful of content creators enough material to work with to grow their careers. Some influencers are skilled, entertaining, and humble, while some wildcards are frowned upon for the opposite reason.
Other personalities are more insufferable than most, but what was surprising was the sudden ban of Nick Kolcheff on a streaming platform. Perhaps new information has surfaced that led to the streamer’s abrupt removal online but some fans couldn’t care less.
Call of Duty Streamer Was Banned and No One Was Surprised
Activision has been around for quite some time and knows how the game industry thinks and operates. However, there are a few questionable decisions made by the company that raised some eyebrows of other influential people like Dr. Disrespect, another problematic content creator and called out the company for removing the operator skin of NickMercs in Call of Duty for something he said about a certain group of people.
There can be a handful of others reasons as to why the company chose to remove the skin yet they chose not to disclose it which is sketchy. Regardless, the content creator lost his operator skin in the games and lost his voice on his platform and not everyone was surprised or bothered by it.
Some casual audience members would naturally be curious as to what the American content creator did to suffer this kind of consequence, and whilst nothing is confirmed, NickMercs has commented saying it was due to some discriminatory language, to put it lightly. With that being said, Kolcheff is not the most popular streamer in most eyes and there are probably people celebrating him losing his platform.
Moments like this will make viewers question what kind of man they are watching and supporting and wonder what he did to get banned. As notable as he is, Kolcheff mysteriously being banned out of nowhere draws some unnecessary and unwanted attention.
Twitch Needs to Be More Cautious on Who to Affiliate With, in the Future
The gaming community can be a dark and shrouded place sometimes which can be among the reasons why Twitch took away his freedom to speak on its platform by banning him. Content creators can only get so far before someone unearths one of their darkest secrets.
Perhaps the developers should start taking notes or doing background checks on content creators making a profit of their games. There is nothing to lose for a little reconnaissance and observation, some fans are thrilled to see Kolcheff go away which is an indication of a troublesome history.
Kolcheff’s skill and performance in video games did not do justice to his reputation of how other people view him. Perhaps the streaming platform wisened up and made the tough call to sever all ties with him to avoid any more controversies.
Gaming can bring out different sides of people that they could be kept at bay, and the personalities are clashing and constantly being succumbed to something unpleasant. Kolcheff learned his lesson the hard way.
