It’s like Deadpool & Wolverine is a gift that keeps on giving. After a long time waiting, we finally have an idea of what to expect from the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-starrer, which will be coming to theatres later this month. However, it looks like the film still has many tricks up its sleeve to surprise the fans.
According to a recent report, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will be coming face to face with Marvel Cinematic Universe’s angry green Avenger – Hulk. While neither the report is confirmed nor do we know if the Hulk in question is Mark Ruffalo, we can all agree that if this happens, Deadpool & Wolverine will go down in history as one of the best MCU films of all time.
Is Hulk Smashing His Way into Hugh Jackman’s Deadpool 3?
Earlier this year, an insider who goes by the name HolyField News on X gave out a few scoops for Deadpool & Wolverine stating that Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk will return to his role in the film and will actually be fighting against the mutants. And now, the insider has backed their statement from March.
With complete confidence in the scoop, @HolyfieldM5 announced that Wolverine vs. Hulk is happening. However, they also clarified that they aren’t sure if Ruffalo will be playing him.

A battle between the two superheroes is straight from the comics, where Wolverine first made his full appearance in The Incredible Hulk #181. He was also seen in the final panel of #180.
After hearing the report, fans were over the moon, rightly so. On one hand, some seem convinced that Ruffalo would be the Hulk in Deadpool 3 as director Shawn Levy has already collaborated with him on several projects. On the other hand, many were hoping to see Eric Bana or Edward Norton return.

Levy and Ruffalo have previously collaborated on three projects, All the Light We Cannot See, Date Night, and The Adam Project alongside Ryan Reynolds. It would make sense for the filmmaker to want to add another title to their partnership.
Hugh Jackman Believes He Can Beat Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk
Hulk is one of the most powerful superheroes in the Marvel Universe, but Wolverine doesn’t play around either. Both characters have unique strengths at their disposal, which they can use to give each other a run for their money.
However. Hugh Jackman once seemed convinced that his Wolverine could easily defeat Ruffalo’s Hulk. In an interview with Sirius XM (via ComicBook.com), the actor praised Ruffalo for being one of the finest actors of today’s generation and called him a good friend before stating that Wolverine would beat his Hulk.
Jackman said,
Mark’s a very good friend of mine and I actually haven’t spoken to him about it. He’s absolutely astonishing in the show. I mean I think he is one of the best actors, certainly of our generation…. But Wolverine would beat him for sure let’s just be very clear…. I don’t know if you know this but The Wolverine actually appeared first in a Hulk comic. He was like a last page, some guy coming so it was The Hulk series he appeared so that’s sort of where that feud came from and then Wolverine sort of took on this whole life so I’m sure The Hulk is very jealous.
As for Ruffalo, he, too, would love to battle it out with the mutant. He once stated on The Marvelists podcast,
It’d be cool to see – I mean, people talk a lot about Wolverine and Hulk hooking up, I think that would be a really great combo. And I love Hugh, and it would be cool to do something with him, if he’s up to doing it. He’s always teased Hulk versus Wolverine would be pretty fun.
Since both Jackman and Ruffalo are clearly ready, it looks like there is nothing left to do but make it happen! Only time will tell if Hulk actually shows up in Deadpool 3 and if the man playing it will be Ruffalo or not.
