One Piece Chapter 1118 Spoilers

Eiichiro Oda, the god of foreshadowing, has once again shocked the entire One Piece fandom by introducing a twist that will not only affect the future of the story but also introduce unlimited possibilities. This twist involves Jewelry Bonney and her ability to use Distorted Future to transform into a variation of Sun God Nika.

Bonney turning into Nika is indeed a great thing for her and the Straw Hat Pirates, as this will help them fight back against the Five Elders, and there is also a chance that they may be able to escape from Egghead Island and move towards their next adventure on Elbaf. However, it may not be as easy as it sounds.

Although the Nika transformation is a big advantage, it may not be easy for Bonney to maintain the form for long. This is because Oda might have deliberately planted a weakness in Bonney to keep Luffy at the top. This weakness is the stamina that is needed to maintain the Nika form for a long time.

The Biggest Weakness of the Sun God Nika’s Transformation

When Gear 5 (Nika’s transformation) was introduced in One Piece’s Wano arc, fans were excited to see Luffy unlock a new mode that could potentially beat Kaido at the time and might also be advantageous in his future battles. However, the Nika transformation did not last very long, as it took a huge toll on Luffy’s health, especially his heart.

Additionally, maintaining the Nika form requires a lot of stamina, which could be exhausting for the user. This is why Luffy had to transform back into his original form and then once again become Nika multiple times during a single battle so that he could regain his stamina and fight back against Kaido. The same thing happened in his fights against Kizaru and Saturn.

Therefore, while the Nika transformation is a huge added bonus, it also takes a huge toll on the body of the user, making it difficult for them to maintain it for a long time. Luffy has used this form multiple times, which is why he has gotten a hang of it, but even then, he cannot stay in the transformation for a long time.

Bonney’s Nika Transformation Could Be Dangerous For Her

Although Luffy has learned to maintain the Nika transformation for a certain amount of time, Bonney is experiencing the powers of freedom for the first time. Therefore, there is a possibility that she might not be able to keep it together for long. Also, the fact that she is just a twelve-year-old child makes it even harder for her.

Luffy’s first Nika transformation lasted for a couple of minutes, and therefore One Piece fans should not expect much from her either. Not only that, her Nika transformation comes through another technique called Distorted Future, which in itself is quite exhausting and exerts a great deal of pressure on the stamina of the user.

The toll of Distorted Future and the Nika transformation could not only affect Bonney’s stamina, but they could potentially be dangerous for her body. She doesn’t have long before she starts feeling the effects of Sun God’s power, thus giving her and Luffy a very small window to hold off the Five Elders and escape from the Future Island of One Piece.
