The One Piece adaptation has managed to shine brighter than any other live-action adaptation of an anime. The accuracy and attention to detail put in the making of the show have brought about a certain sense of familiarity while also introducing the series to a fresh and new audience at the exact same time.
From the incredible cast to the dedicated respect for the original work, Eiichiro Oda’s manga and anime were in good hands with the Netflix adaptation.
The first season, on its own, managed to capture the audience with the heavy tones that mixed with Luffy’s goofiness. The show has worked hard on not only bringing the fan favorite characters to life but also to improve them in many ways, the biggest example being Taz Skylar’s Sanji. This accuracy is only increasing with another character.
Alvida Shocks the World
Dedicated One Piece fans would know well of Alvida the Iron Mace. She has a reputation and is a formidable pirate, one who’s path gets obstructed by the likes of Monkey D. Luffy. Fans of the live-action would also be familiar with her character. When first introduced, she is seen as a minor villain with an accurate portrayal by Ilia Isorelýs Paulino.

She comes off as a healthy yet intimidating woman. One of her striking qualities is seen through her physical strength. She was seen as a rather plump woman. Paulino did an incredible job at enacting the pirate and her role, although smaller at first, was enough to make her a memorable character.
In a new photo as shared by Pewpiece on X, the actress has gone through a breathtaking transformation that makes her almost unrecognizable. Paulino’s weight loss transformation is not something fans expected.
Alvida’s Transformation Only Adds Onto One Piece
The transformation of Ilia Isorelýs Paulino is mesmerizing in itself, seeing the time and effort she put into herself and the confidence in which she stands. Alvida’s character transforms naturally in the story as well. Given the powers of the Sube Sube no Mi or Smooth Smooth Fruit, she turns into a lean, slender woman who is just as unrecognizable as the actress now.
Being forced into hiding, she devours the Devil Fruit that gives her skin so smooth that not even a weapon can hit her without simply slipping off her body. This transformation contributes to her entire growth as a character, reflecting her own development.
Whether or not Paulino’s own weight loss journey is part of the series, it does have an impact on portraying her character even more accurately. Moreover, it builds both to her character and to the show as a whole.
One Piece is available to watch on Netflix.
