Former NSYNC star and singer Justin Timberlake was arrested on the charges of Driving Under the Influence in Sag Harbor, Long Island on Tuesday morning. The cops pulled him over for driving through a stop sign and also swerving out of his lane. Timberlake is in the middle of his world tour and fans didn’t expect to see him in handcuffs at this time. He was released without bail after being formally charged.
Fans couldn’t believe it when a mugshot and other pictures of the actor in handcuffs were released on several media outlets. The SexyBack singer’s attorney shared that he would vigorously defend his client in the current charges as Timberlake is set to appear virtually in Sag Harbor court on July 26.

Justin Timberlake shocked his fans when he was arrested on DUI charges in the Hamptons on Tuesday morning. After the cops pulled him over for violating the traffic rules, they performed several sobriety tests on the actor. The cops told CBS News that Timberlake’s eyes were “bloodshot and glassy” and there was “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath” (via BBC).
Timberlake performed poorly on all the tests and his speech pattern was slow, leading to the conclusion that he was intoxicated. The officers charged him and took him to the station after he allegedly refused a breathalyzer test. He told the cops, “I had one martini and I followed my friends home.”
Fans were not happy to see him in handcuffs after his pics and a mugshot were released widely. One pic showed him walking out of a secure holding area in handcuffs accompanied by a cop.

The Social Network star was all set to promote his sixth album, Everything I Thought It Was. He is out on bail and has to appear virtually in court next month. It is not the first controversy that the actor has landed himself in.
Witness Statements Say Justin Timberlake Was Wasted Causing Concern Among Fans
According to police reports, Justin Timberlake was drinking at The American Hotel bar with friends before the arrest took place. An eyewitness told the New York Post that he was wasted and even drank another person’s cocktail that was left on the table. The source shared:
He was wasted. At one point, just before closing, somebody got up to go to the bathroom and left his drink on the table. When [the man] came back, [Timberlake] was drinking his drink. The guy goes, ‘Justin, that’s my drink!’
Various pics of the Friends with Benefits actor later surfaced on social media along with his attorney Edward Burke Jr., after he received bail. According to New York City laws, the penalties for Timberlake’s charges include up to a year in jail, a $1000 fine, and the suspension of a driver’s license for at least six months.
He is all set to perform at New York’s Madison Square Garden next Tuesday.
