If you haven’t heard about this program, then we don’t blame you since it is easily Sony’s most neglected service. PlayStation Stars has been down since June 5, 2024, and fans are now convinced that Sony doesn’t care. Despite having the best team and resources, Sony has still not fixed this issue.

PlayStation Stars, Sony‘s free rewards and loyalty program, first went down on June 5, 2024, and now, almost a month later, the service is still not up. Players on social media are bashing Sony for ignoring this problem.

PlayStation’s official website says that their engineers are aware of the issue and are working on a solution. Despite being a multibillion-dollar corporation and having the best team, Sony has still not fixed this issue.

Fans are convinced that Sony has been intentionally ignoring this issue as it is related to the reward system. Since this service isn’t exactly profitable, it makes sense why Sony doesn’t care.

Players have spent hours trying to earn points for PlayStation Stars and if Sony doesn’t fix this issue, all those hours will be wasted. Players have suggested that Sony should provide some sort of compensation if they can’t fix the issue.

PlayStation Stars is different from Sony’s previous Rewards program. As per the official website, the Sony Rewards program will end on December 31, 2024, which is the last day to redeem points in the Sony Rewards catalog and access your account.

What Can Players Get With PlayStation Stars?

The points that players earn under this program can be exchanged for digital collectibles, free games, and PS Store credit. For example, with 1250 Points, players can get things like 500 Coins in Apex Legends, 375 Super Credits in Helldivers 2, or Fly N’ Fresh Suit Pack for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

With enough points, players can also buy games like Minecraft, Helldivers 2, and Rise of the Ronin. In case you’re not interested in digital collectibles or in-game rewards, then you can redeem the points for PS Store. With 1250 points, players can get $5.00 / £5.00 while 5000 points will get you $20.00 / £20.00.

These points can be earned by doing several things. If you take part in various in-game activities and online tournaments, you get some loyalty points. More points can be earned by earning trophies and buying games or add-ons from the PlayStation Store.

This service is available in Asia, North America, South America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Do you think Sony is intentionally ignoring this problem? Share your opinions in the comments!
