There’s no doubt that Elite Raids haven’t had the best reception since their release in Pokemon Go back in October 2022 with Hoopa Unbound. Many fans despise the high difficulty level of Elite Raids and the fact that they can’t be remotely raided,

When Niantic announced that Rayquaza was coming back to Pokemon Go, players were excited and hoped that it would be a normal Raid Day. Unfortunately, Niantic revealed that it will be an Elite Raid Day event. As anyone could’ve guessed, the event turned out to be a massive failure. However, there’s still a chance Niantic can save themselves by introducing this simple idea to fix the fundamental issues of Elite Raids.

Niantic Can Implement a Simple Feature to Make Gym Raids Much Easier in Pokemon

With Pokemon Go’s Mega Rayquaza Elite Raid Day event finally over, the community seems to be frustrated and wondering why Niantic isn’t fixing the game’s gym system. The whole Elite Day fiasco highlighted the game’s gym-raiding failures. For years, Niantic has yet to be able to implement a proper solution or rework the system, which continues to anger players.

Luckily, over at Reddit, one user has found a perfect feature to fix Pokemon Go‘s gym system. It’s time to start taking notes, Niantic!

One of the issues with gym battles for specific events is that they’re limited to only in-person players. The user suggests that Niantic could implement a feature that will allow a person raiding the gym to ping nearby players. This will make it much easier to complete Elite Raids and other special events.

Niantic has tried to implement a feature similar to what is being suggested in its Campfire app. However, the problem is that Campfire isn’t available in a lot of places, or players simply don’t bother checking the app to find raids. If Niantic can bring a feature to Pokemon Go itself, it would satisfy players and make future Elite Raids more enjoyable.

Don’t Use Meteorite on Your Rayquaza

Despite the event’s failure, thousands of gamers attended the Mega Rayquaza Elite Raid event and managed to get their hands on the powerful Pokemon and, most crucially, Meteorite.

Meteorite is a special item that allows you to teach your Rayquaza a special move called “Dragon Ascent” Once taught, Rayquaza can mega-evolve. If you’re itching to take your Rayquaza to the next level, you should hold out a bit.

As pointed out by a Reddit user, Shadow Rayquaza is quite likely to be the upcoming Shadow Legendary as part of the Giovanni Timed Research

It’s a known fact that Mega Rayquaza is incredibly lethal and several notches above the normal Rayquaza. However, Shadow Rayquaza could boost the Pokemon’s offensive capabilities even further. You’ll be surprised to know, but a 6/6/6 Shadow Rayquaza can outclass a regular 15/15/15 Rayquaza in Pokemon Go.

Do you think Niantic should overhaul gym battles in Pokemon Go? Let us know in the comments.
