The game is being developed and distributed by Akatsuki Games in association with TOHO and Production I.G., the studio that created the Kaiju No. 8 anime series.
The game features the protagonist, Kafka Hibino, along with his friends Kikoru Shinomiya, Soshiro Hoshina, Ichikawa Reno, and Mina Ashiro. It also features other monsters from the original series. It will be released on Apple’s App Store, Google Play, and Steam. Although there is no official release window, the game will most likely launch after the anime series ends.
Many anime series have recently released their own video game that essentially features the same environment, characters, and abilities as portrayed in the anime series. Jujutsu Kaisen got Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade, Solo Leveling got Solo Leveling: Arise, Bleach got Bleach Brave Souls, etc. It has become kind of a trend to release a video game after the series.

While the fans are not too happy about it, the visual effects of the game look promising and there is a chance that Kaiju No. 8 The Game could be better than the other games. It all depends on what Akatsuki Games, TOHO, and Production I.G. have planned for the video game.
