X-Men ’97 has become the latest talk of the town for essentially reviving an animated series to the best standards possible and for just being plain awesome. Starring several iconic X-Men characters pitted against some infamous villains, X-Men ’97 has become an addictive series for people.
And it’s not just about the villains or the heroes that the series has garnered so much attention. It was only yesterday that the third episode of the animated show was released. Taking to X, fans were once again mesmerized by the powers and beauty of one wonderful Jean Grey!
Fans Are In Love With X-Men ’97 And Jean Grey’s Powers!
With the release of episode 3, people stated that the episode was like a psychedelic trip (in a good way). Having a plethora of visuals that are pretty, haunting, and, beautiful to look at, people claimed that the third episode was like a sensory overload for the brain.
But what seemed to shine amidst these pretty colors was the character of Jean Grey. Being one of the strongest X-Men characters created to date, Jean Grey used her powers to save the X-Men from some terrible nightmares. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), people talked about these powers of Jean Grey and how she is also an awesome character!

Ep. 3 of #XMen97 is like a psychedelic trip in the best way possible. The sheer volume of gorgeous color almost induces sensory overload but it’s mesmerizing to watch. Mr. Sinister is pure evil. This show just has a mysterious way of gripping you and not letting go. pic.twitter.com/I94ddr1pgS

@TheReelRejects made a great comment on how Jean is always depicted as a goddess in a negative context "Phoenix" and this was the first time we see here as this (literal) angelic figure saving them from hell. Very well done.

So, all in all, it seems that fans are really enjoying X-Men ’97, and is the next best thing after Marvel’s What If…? that has grabbed the attention of the world. Writing the animated show from scratch, writer Beau DeMayo has also an incredible tale to tell about his own childhood and how that resulted in the creation of X-Men ’97.
X-Men ’97 Executive Producer Talks About How The Show Was Created
Reviving the 1992 series X-Men: The Animated Series, the recently released show was created and written by Beau DeMayo. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Brad Winderbaum talked about how DeMayo used his own experience to craft the series to perfection.
“He really touched on something fundamental about the X-Men, that it was a found family. I think the X-Men, because of who they are, inherently make people feel seen, make people feel like they’re allowed to use their voice. That conversation is at the heart of the show.”
DeMayo talked about his side of the tale by stating,
“My parents are white, my siblings are Korean, we’re all adopted, and there’s a lot of things that make us different. But I think, and it sounds so cheesy to say this, I do subscribe to the Charles Xavier model: Even at our most different, there’s a lot we still have in common.”
Having released three episodes to its name, X-Men ’97 has received a rating of 9/10 on IMDB and a whopping 98% on Rotten Tomatoes! The iconic heroes fighting some terrible villains can be seen with X-Men ’97 available to stream on Disney+ in the U.S.
