The highly controversial topic of pe*ophilia and pe*ophiles has been talked about for the past few years. Through social commentary or diss tracks (looking at you Kendrick Lamar and Drake), The Boys just addressed the issue but in their own signature style.

With a new season, the same old Antony Starr, and, newer characters were brought and one of them was a supe named Firecracker. Being one of the kids injected with Compound V upon birth, Firecracker took part in several beauty pageants but lost when Starlight spread a rumor about her.
When Annie gets an abortion done, Firecracker decides to take revenge by revealing the same to the world. Before things can continue, Starlight jumps and beats her up. On the other hand, it is revealed that Firecracker had se*ual relations with a 15-year-old boy when she was in Florida.
Although the evidence was used to blackmail Firecracker, she released the video herself! As wild as the series gets, some fans talked about how people are bringing attention to the wrong thing. Instead of people fixating on Starlight’s abortion, fans urged that people pay attention to Firecracker’s pe*ophilia!

Although The Boys did bring attention to the important issue, this is not the first time that a topic as serious as pe*ophilia has been brought to the limelight. Before the Amazon Prime Video series, a Comedy Central series was brave enough to tackle the issue!
Going one step beyond The Boys, this animated show even took aim at the Catholic Church! The episode was so controversial that after its release, a religious advocacy group had to step in!
South Park Did It First!
It doesn’t matter who did it first as long as the important issue gets the spotlight and attention from the world that it deserves. South Park, the animated series that has been running since 1997, released an episode in 2018 titled A Boy and a Priest, and the world went crazy.
The episode delved into the allegations against priests allegedly involved in some se*ual abuse cases with children. Upon its release, the world went into a frenzy as the show took a direct aim at the Catholic Church.
The Catholic League—a religious advocacy group even released a statement on their website denouncing the show and calling the writers of South Park “cowards”!
The October 3rd episode of “South Park,” titled “A Boy and a Priest,” portrayed mo*esting priests as pe*ophiles. This is factually inaccurate: almost all the mo*esters—8 in 10—have been homose*uals.

Therefore, the cartoon-victim characters should have been depicted as adolescents, not kids. In Hollywood, the creators of “South Park,” Trey Parker and Matt Stone, are seen as courageous. They are really cowards. It takes courage to tell the truth.
Despite the episode receiving criticism and flak from the world, critics and activists deemed A Boy and a Priest as one of the greatest episodes of the animated show. Running since 1997, the show continues to drop weekly episodes aimed at the current topics.
On the other hand, 4th season of The Boys is not here to give the audience a gentle reminder, but rather, a traumatic memory. With a weekly release, The Boys has been gaining popularity and fame once again.
