Stellar Blade, the upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive from Shift Up, is all set to launch tomorrow, April 26, and will see players take on aliens in a sci-fi setting with Soulslike combat. The initial reviews of the game have been mostly positive, despite the Eve controversy, and Shift Up and fans alike are optimistic about it.
While players still have a day to wait to play the full game, the developer has already released a day-one patch with new features. The patch brings several features, including one that is demanded a lot these days and was supposed to arrive in the game later, but it seems like Stellar Blade devs wanted to waste no time.
Stellar Blade Gets New Game+ Ahead of Launch
Shift Up hasn’t officially announced the day one patch, but it has been added to Stellar Blade and adds a New Game+ option for the players so that they can jump again in the game for a second playthrough once they beat the game.

The developer had previously said that the option would be added with a post-launch update, but it has now been added just a day before launch. This means that players installing the game will have access to New Game+. The second playthrough will offer a unique and tougher experience than the first and will also aim for a different ending.
According to the in-game update prompt, all the equipment, items and records, currency, character enhancements, acquired skills, drone upgrades, and owned SP. Essentially, everything players gain during the first playthrough will carry over to New Game+.
However, the game progress will not carry over and will be reset. This means that Eve will be as powerful as she was at the end of the first game, but there will be a new area and mission for players. Players are excited about the update and are looking forward to finally playing the game.
Fans Are Buzzing Over the New Game+ Addition
Players have expressed their excitement for the New Game+ and have praised Shift Up for bringing it to the game so soon. Fans have said that the game has no bugs or technical issues and runs smoothly at 60 fps.
Many added that they are now thinking of getting the game on the day of its release, but some are still looking for other things. Players have said that they would like to see a boss rush mode or an extreme difficulty mode.
Shift up need to be studied.
From what i hear to the game has no bugs and is flawless 60fps in performance mode with minor dips in a couple cutscenes. Then they add ng+ within a few weeks? Goated pic.twitter.com/O4Pw8PHyVY— james. (@JamesResEvil) April 24, 2024
The game’s difficulty rises as players progress further, but fans have been asking for a dedicated difficulty mode. Fans have said that the only thing missing in the game now is the photo mode, and once it is added, the game will be complete in every aspect possible.
Now we JUST wait for photo mode!

Shift Up has already said that if there is enough demand, the photo mode will be added to the game later on, and seeing the hype around Stellar Blade, there may be more planned.
