It was recently revealed by Tatum himself that a script for the unfinished film 23 Jump Street (a sequel in the 21 Jump Street franchise) was the best one he ever read. Somewhere, down the line, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse director Rodney Rothman, allegedly picked it up!

The World May Finally Get Channing Tatum’s 23 Jump Street

21 Jump Street came out in 1987 with Johnny Depp portraying the role of a high-school student while being an undercover cop. This TV series was remade into a 2012 film starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill.

The film was highly praised (which is rare for a remake) and a sequel was soon announced. In 2014, 22 Jump Street was released and the film went on to earn rave reviews and critical fame.

Sadly, the franchise died down and no new sequels were announced. Recently, the Magic Mike star revealed in an interview with Comicbook that he was ready for 23 Jump Street.

There is a project that was written and it’s still the best script that I’ve ever read for a third movie. It’s just a lot of bureaucracy, kind of above the line stuff, It’s really hard to get it made and we’ve been trying to get it done.

It was 2014 when data was breached at Sony and emails about a collaboration between the Men in Black and the 21 Jump Street franchise were theorized. The worldwide release of these emails created problems for these films.

Although he missed out on the role of Gambit in the MCU, Channing Tatum is still holding onto hope that a sequel to the iconic franchise will be made. Now, it seems that people have finally heard his demands, especially Rodney Rothman.

Rodney Rothman Teased A Script For Men in Black x 23 Jump Street!

Rodney Rothman is an American filmmaker known for being one of the directors of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Well, the director had already found fame for his work in the 2018 movie, but now, it seems that he has the world’s attention.

Taking to his social media account on X (formerly Twitter), Rodney Rothman revealed a single photo of a paper. On the paper, the words 23 Jump Street: Men in Black 4 were written.

In the caption, Rodney Rothman seemed to insinuate that nothing was impossible. The two lines were enough to make the world go crazy. A collaboration between the Men in Black and the 21 Jump Street franchise would literally be insane.

As much as we want to see aliens disguised as high-school students and Channing Tatum hunting them down, there can be no confirmation or denial at the moment.
