If you ever go down the rabbit hole of battle choreographies, you will find that some of the best scenes are not from One Piece or Dragon Ball, but rather from Naruto and Boruto. Both franchises are famous for their detailed battles with actual choreographies rather than just random bursts of action followed by impact sounds.
Even in Naruto and Boruto, some battles stand out from others. In the opinion of the fandom, early Naruto episodes had the best choreography. However, you will find some great ones in Boruto, despite it being infamous for a drop in animation quality.
The Momoshiki Vs Naruto and Sasuke Battle in Boruto

Ever since the inception of Boruto, the franchise has been receiving constant criticism over the sequel series. The criticisms involve the fresh characters and cast as well as the overwhelming amount of fillers in the anime. The creators and staff behind the anime have come back with one solid answer to all the ridicule in the form of a legendary battle.
The fight that went down in history was between Momoshiki and the team-up of Naruto and Sasuke. Episode 65 of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, saw Naruto and Sasuke team up once again in the hopes of defeating Momoshiki Otsutsuki. Given that Naruto and Sasuke were battling an otherworldly entity, something they had never fought before, the audience was kept at the edge of their seats with the tension.
Naruto, with his Nine Tails, and Sasuke with his Rinnegan charged at Momoshiki, who underestimated them at first but soon realized how grave of a mistake it was. After a lot of back and forth and several well-attempted attacks, Naruto had to hand over the reins to Boruto.

The battle choreography is simply mind-boggling. Each and every move of the trio could be seen in the scene. The hand-to-hand combat is beautifully executed and none of the steps have been cut out. It is the epitome of a battle choreography.
The Fall of Boruto‘s Animation Quality
Boruto is a weekly anime where new episodes are pushed out each week. Thus the tight schedule could have tied the hands of Studio Pierrot as they could no longer provide quality animation within such a small time frame. The battle against Momoshiki contained all the tricks that made Naruto fights the best.

Comparing Boruto with other weekly series will also not serve your purpose as each anime begets different treatment and bigger studios can make anime without having to cut corners.
Boruto began with superb animation, but the fall happened soon. Fans find themselves begging for another fight that can match up to the Momoshiki battle. Fans also claim that they need superior animation only for the big battles and not the regular episodes, to make the load easier on the studio.
At the end of the day, animation quality depends on budget and timing, so even if one aspect goes haywire, the whole production could end up looking bad and attracting attention.
You can read Naruto and Boruto on Viz Media and watch the anime on Crunchyroll.
