Peter Parker’s romance with Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson is obviously iconic, there is no doubt about this. Fans are free to pick which woman they prefer seeing their friendly neighborhood Spider-Man with both of them having played a vital role in Peter’s career. However, Sam Raimi’s trilogy introduced us to another character who would’ve made a great pair with Peter – Ursula.
Ursula Ditkovich is a minor character from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films but she is finally getting the recognition she deserves. She treated Peter with the utmost kindness and was supportive toward him, often offering him food. Now, years after the last film of the trilogy, fans seem to think that she would’ve been perfect for our Spidey.
Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man Trilogy: A Love Story That Never Was
First appearing in Spider-Man 2 (2004), Ursula is played by Mageina Tovah who is best known for her work in Joan of Arcadia (2003-2005). She reprised her role in Spider-Man 3 (2007). She was a fresh character in the Spider-Verse since she doesn’t exist in the comics and was made for the sole purpose of the films.
Ursula is the daughter of Peter Parker’s (Tobey Maguire) landlord and unlike him, she is very sweet and kind toward the tenant. She did not have a prominent role in the two films but still made a lasting impact on the fans due to her supportive and gentle demeanor.
From cookies and milk to a piece of chocolate cake, Ursula always had some food to offer Peter.
While the trilogy focused primarily on Peter’s relationships with Mary Jane and Gwen, it was Ursula that took our hearts away, despite the minimal screentime. She brought a sense of humanity to his life and while he tried to balance his life and superhero duties, she gave him the much-needed moments of solace, no matter how small.
Looking back, we wish Sam Raimi had taken the time to explore Ursula and Peter’s relationship a little more. In a series filled with larger-than-life themes and high stakes, Ursula brought warmth and normalcy and we cannot help but wonder what would have happened if Peter gave his landlord’s daughter a chance.
Fans Believe Ursula Would’ve Been Perfect for Peter Parker
When an Instagram account, ‘forucinema’ posted a clip from the trilogy featuring Peter and Ursula, the comment section was full of fans vouching for the fact that the two would have worked romantically and that Ursula was the perfect choice for Peter.
The caption read, “Growing up is realizing that Ursula was the one” and we couldn’t agree more. Neither could the fans.
Here’s what they had to say about the unexplored love:
_ruben_nogues: The only one who really liked Peter and not Spidy.
sam._marshal: In the search of gold he lost a diamond.
theraghavjoshii: That’s real love without expectations.
theusmankhalil: She was his real love bruh.
brentcint_middleton: I thought the same as a kid honestly.
mr.ryan.skinner89: He wasted all his time and energy for MJ when he could of settled for this cute and humble blonde chick.

It has been years since the trilogy ended but Ursula remains a beloved character. She is the testament that small gestures do have the power of making big waves and we love her for that!
