The news about the pair’s iconic collaboration trickled in right after they presented an award together at the 95th Academy Awards last year, and their forthcoming film just received an exciting update.

Andrew Garfield & Florence Pugh’s New Film Gets A Fresh Update

Shepherded by The Goldfinch‘s John Crowley, We Live in Time is an upcoming romantic comedy starring Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh. While the plot details are being kept under wraps, the film is going to be “a love story” between a burgeoning chef and a recent divorcée.

In fresh news, Discussing Film on X reports that the forthcoming movie is going to be R-rated for “language, s*xuality, and n*dity.” Meanwhile, fans seem to be thrilled about The Amazing Spider-Man star sharing the silver screen with the Black Widow actress.

Marvel fans might not get to see the beloved superhero join forces with Yelena Belova yet, but they can certainly enjoy Garfield and Pugh’s sublime duo soon enough. Besides, even if the cynical spy played by the English actress were to appear beside Spidey, it would probably be with Tom Holland‘s web-slinger (via The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show | ComicBook).

A couple of months ago, the Irish film and theatre director confirmed that the film was in post-production and ready to hit cinemas later this year. For the lead stars, Crowley, 54, – who has previously worked with Garfield in Boy A – had the highest order of acknowledgment, claiming their on-screen chemistry to be nothing short of “extraordinary” (via UCC Talking Pictures Podcast).

The playfulness and heartbreak of it and the fights and silliness, it’s the whole picture in this without giving too much away. It’s a thrilling performance from both of them.

The Brooklyn director praised the Spider-Man: No Way Home star for the repertoire of acclaimed projects he’s starred in since he last joined hands with Crowley. “He’s still the same creature he was,” he said of Garfield, “But craft-wise he has very, very sophisticatedly developed the way he works, which is incredible to see and a gift on set.”

Crowley also complimented the Oppenheimer star for being a “fearless” actress and having “the purest instinct for what the heart of the scene is about.”
