The release of FromSoftware’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC will be going down as one of the greatest launches this year, a fact that is being acknowledged by not only players but other studios alike.
Coming forward with a post on their official X/ Twitter handle, The Witcher franchise has extended congratulations to Elden Ring and its developers for finally dethroning the former’s Blood and Wine DLC as the best expansion for a role-playing game after 8 long years, even sharing a custom art which is nothing less than a dream come true for some fans.

Since its first-ever announcement in February 2023, the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion has managed to be the center of attention in the gaming community, pushing millions of fans around the globe to theorize and speculate what Hidetaka Miyazaki might have planned next for the Game of the Year 2022 title.
Now that it is finally available for everyone to play, the response has been nothing but ‘very positive’, as the official Steam storefront for the DLC states. This was followed by CD Projekt Red, the creators of The Witcher congratulating the game and its studio through their official social media handle, stating how Elden Ring gets to ‘wear that crown’ now.

The post was also accommodated with custom art made by one of the developers, showcasing Geralt of Rivia, the main character of The Witcher series, holding Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear and heading towards Miquella’s cocoon that lies lifeless in the palace. As one would expect, the post was received well by fans, with everyone appreciating the gesture made:
