The super dog has been pretty popular among fans, even receiving his own film and a short-lived animated series in which he starred as the lead. Fans of Superman have decided that James Gunn needs to deliver on scene from Superman comics due to the sheer hilarity of the scene, including Superman and Krypto.

Posted by X user @_SLH5_, the panel of the comics is not actually from any published Superman story. The lettering on the panels is edited, with Superman’s dialogue being altered to the hilarious effect. The edited lettering changes the context of the panels, such that it seems that Superman is mad at Krypto for wearing his cape and is asking for it back like a pouty child.
While it is highly unlikely that this scene will make it into the film as is, the original comic panels would fit right in with the vibe that James Gunn is taking with Superman, given that the original lettering had Superman doing one of the most in-character things possible.
The original lettering of the panels will be right at home in Superman (2025)

In the original lettering of the panel, ripped from Superman Vol 1. Issue # 680, by James Robinson and Renato Guedes, Superman points to his dog, proclaiming him as the hero that Metropolis should applaud. He tells the city that Krypto is his dog and that now he belongs to them too.
Promptly followed by a cheer from the crowd, this scene would be right at home in the more hopeful and optimistic DCU that James Gunn is crafting, starting with Superman. While the doctored lettering would be hilarious to see on screen, it might not be the right fit for David Corenswet‘s version of the character.
In all seriousness, there is no way the doctored panel is making it into a film, but the original panel has a very decent shot at being part of the DCU if fans want it enough. Even that does not guarantee its presence in the franchise, it is one of the many moments that define Superman, even if the panels depict a less significant aspect of his character.
Superman hits theatres on July 11th, 2025.
