Marvel fans have been anticipating the return of several characters in the upcoming, Deadpool & Wolverine. Since the film introduces and plays with the concept of the multiverse, the possibilities are endless when it comes to who exactly is going to show up and who isn’t. With this, fans have been looking forward to two faces making their way into the film; one making a comeback, and the other potentially getting an introduction.

Considering how badly fans want the Scarlet Witch to come back with Magneto by her side, a recent update may make audiences very upset. While fans were looking forward to their entry, another character has been rumored to appear in an upcoming Marvel project in the worst of ways.

Upsetting News For Marvel Fans

For years, Marvel fans have been wanting to see Magneto enter the MCU. Even though the character headlined the story of the X-Men universe, they have wanted to see him make an entry into the world of the Avengers and shake it up in a way that has never been done before.

In addition to this, ever since Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch was killed off in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, fans have been desperate for her to return. Her end was left almost purposefully ambiguous, and audiences think the reason is the fact that she is not dead.

While there is no denying that at least Magneto will enter the MCU eventually, as they set up the mutants, patience is difficult for fans to practice. The same can be said about Olsen’s character. Even though she may never come back, there may be a chance that Wanda’s name will be brought up in some way or another.

However, it would seem that the upcoming films are not going to help further these plots and expectations, as a recent statement teases another entrance altogether.

The Doom Is Near

While the theories about Magneto and the Scarlet Witch have been flying for years now, a recent rumor does not add to these wants in the slightest. During a recent interview with Cosmic Circus, Alex Perez revealed the next big entrance that fans can expect from the MCU. Although it is not going to be Wanda Maximoff or Erik Lehnsherr, it would seem that a character just as anticipated may finally get his time in the sun.

It was teased that Marvel wants to bring Doctor Doom into the main story of the franchise. Although this is not surprising, considering he is the main villain of the Fantastic Four, Perez revealed the type of character he is going to be, and that certainly adds a lot of intrigue.

I really don’t think Doom will be the main villain in this Saga, given the little time we have to build him up. It would be a disservice to us, to the character, and quite frankly a waste. Doom deserves better than 1 movie to set him up in a post-credit scene and then big bad for 2 movies and then be done with him.

It would seem that Doctor Doom is not going to be the type of antagonist that comes in one film and leaves after getting defeated. At the same time, he cannot take on a role like Thanos, as the franchise does not have that much time to set him up.

Plus, I’ve heard they’re treating Doom similar to how they’ve handled Loki in the Infinity Saga.

Perez revealed that the conclusion they came to was to turn him into a character similar to Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, not in personality but in his appearance. Loki comes and goes as he pleases in any film. With this, it can be expected that Doctor Doom will make several appearances in Marvel.
