Although the series has given quite a bit of detail about Joy Boy, his identity is still a mystery, and the only person who knows everything about Joy Boy is Eiichiro Oda. Thus, to make things interesting, Oda has left multiple hints in the series to foreshadow the identity of Joy Boy. But One Piece fans might have finally cracked the code.

According to a recent One Piece theory, Oda has already revealed the original Joy Boy, and he was hinted to the fans during the Thriller Bark arc. The theory states that the ancient giant Oars is actually Joy Boy. If the theory comes true, this will be the biggest foreshadowing moment in the history of One Piece.

The Role of Oars in One Piece

Oars was one of the most powerful giants in the history of One Piece. He earned the nickname “Continent Puller” because of his immense strength. Not much is known about Oars except for the fact that he was a ferocious ancient giant who was feared throughout the world and was considered dangerous and evil.

When he died, his body was unearthed by Gecko Moria, as he wanted to wage war on the Beast Pirates, especially Kaido. Even after death, Oars had his own will, and although he obeyed Gecko Moria, he always did things in his own way. He was the 900th zombie in Moria’s army, and because of his incredible feats, he was classified as a special zombie.

He was infused with Luffy’s shadow, which was removed by Gecko Moria during their fight. Oars was one of the strongest characters that the Straw Hat Pirates ever faced, and his abilities even among the ancient giants were truly terrifying.

One Piece Reveals The Original Joy Boy

According to @Jabulkheir on X(Formerly Twitter), all the details revealed about Joy Boy draw parallels with Oars from the Thriller Bark arc. The biggest commonality between the two is the number 900. According to Vegapunk, Joy Boy was born 900 years ago and Oars was the 900th zombie in Gecko Moria’s zombie army.

The first thing that Oars did when he got infused with Luffy’s shadow was become a pirate. Although at that time it felt like he was imitating Luffy but according to the theory, he was imitating the first pirate of the One Piece world: Joy Boy. It would prove the connection between Oars and Joy Boy.

Also, the popular One Piece song, Binks Sake, which was written by Joy Boy, was introduced in the Thriller Bark arc. Another parallel between the two is the fact that Oars has been called the Devil, and all the D. clan members are associated with the Devil. And finally, Oars’ descendent, Oars Jr., was given a “straw hat” by Luffy’s brother and Roger’s son, Portgas D. Ace.
