Russell Crowe, the man who yelled “My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius” at the top of his voice in Gladiator, is now 60 years old. Yes, sadly, the once-young actor has now entered his retirement years and as Crowe himself says, he has “a sh*t ton of regrets”.
Having an iconic career in Hollywood to his name, Russell Crowe has been a part of several notable films and projects over the years. Naturally, the actor has had a ton of experience which has made him all the more wiser with time.
Russell Crowe Is Disappointed With Dakota Johnson’s Remarks!
It was the year 2024 when 50 Shades of Grey actress Dakota Johnson starred in an MCU film titled Madame Web. Despite the hype and excitement that the film had created with its trailer and storyline, the movie was ultimately a failure.
After the reviews were out, Johnson claimed that she felt terrible because she allegedly did not become a part of something bigger other than her film. Talking about the vastness of the cinematic universe, Johnson was disappointed with the film. In response, veteran actor Russell Crowe recently sat down for an interview with THR, during which he talked about his career so far.
Although the film thrived on Netflix, Crowe Addressed Johnson’s comments on the film being nothing more than a regular film. Although the actor stated that he didn’t want to comment on anyone’s case, Crowe couldn’t help himself but state that he lives by the philosophy of “Here’s your role. Play the role.”
I donât want to make any comments to what anybody else might have said or what their experience is, but ⊠youâre bringing out the impish quality of my humor, Youâre telling me you signed up for a Marvel movie, and some fu*king universe for cartoon characters ⊠and you didnât get enough pathos? Not quite sure how I can make this better for you.
He further continued,
And you know, Iâve experienced that on the DC side with Man of Steel, Zack Snyder, and Iâve experienced it on the Marvel side via Disney with Thor: Love and Thunder ⊠These are jobs. You know: Hereâs your role, play the role. If youâre expecting this to be some kind of life-changing event, I just think youâre here for the wrong reasons.
No truer words can be spoken by Russell Crowe as the veteran actor made his point blunt, short, and brutally honest. Being 60 years old, the Les Misérables actor has had a ton of experience working in Hollywood over the years.
While reflecting back on his journey, Crowe remarked that he is in awe of the people who say that they have no regrets. As the interview further continued, Crowe wasn’t shy of revealing that he has a ton of regrets!
Russell Crowe Has A Sh*t Ton of Regrets!
In the present world, there are a lot of actors who prefer the philosophy of YOLO or No Regrets. Well, Russell Crowe’s here to prove them wrong with his point of view. As the interview further continued, Crowe talked about how he has had a ton of regrets over the years.
From rejecting films to introspecting himself, Crowe revealed that he has come a long way and that he is happy for feeling regrets. With the continuing interview, the Gladiator actor revealed that regrets were a way for him to know that he was being stupid yesterday and that he didn’t have to be stupid today!
Iâm in awe of people these days who say, âI have no regrets,’â Crowe said. âReally? Not one single thing you ever did. Right? Youâre so fu*king perfect. Iâve got a sh*t ton of regrets. My regrets are, in a way, badges of honor.Â
He further continued,
Having the ability to have that introspection and go, âYou know, the other day you were a fu*king d*ck, mate. Do your best not to be a fu*king d*ck like that again.’
Russell Crowe sure cusses a lot. But, that’s what makes him one of the coolest veteran actors of all time, which includes both him and Samuel L. Jackson (who is also 75 years old!). Regardless, Crowe was last seen in the 2024 film The Exorcism.
Despite being 60 years old, Russell Crowe doesn’t want to retire as he is currently attached to seven upcoming projects in various stages of development. Some of the popular titles include Kraven the Hunter and Nuremberg.Â
