Levi is one of the most popular anime characters of all time and the crush of many people due to his attractive looks and charming personality. However, throughout the series, he has not shown any romantic interest in anyone in the series. However, the monologue we got from the last episode of the series might hint at his feelings towards Hange and why he did not choose Erwin.

Levi might have been in love with Hange in Attack on Titan

Levi has one of the most challenging upbringings in the story, and despite being against the odds, he makes it out and becomes a person everyone will respect despite being feared by his enemies.

The Levi and Erwin duo has played a crucial role in the series, as without Erwin’s brain, the survey corps would have been outclassed by Marley and the Titans, and if not for Levi’s absurd strength, Eren might have been taken to Marley in season 1 itself.

However, Levi always enjoyed the company of Erwin and Hange, and the choice to pick Armin over Erwin was a very heartbreaking decision he had to take.

As seen in the last episode, Levi does not regret choosing Armin over Erwin, and while he converses with himself, we see flashbacks of the old survey corps members.

We see him reminiscing about the time he heard Armin talking about wanting to see the ocean, and in the next frame, we see Hange with the same spark in her eyes.

Maybe Levi does not regret choosing Erwin because he entrusted and believed in Hange and wanted Erwin to be free from this hell.

Levi’s character and its importance in Attack on Titan

Levi is arguably the most crucial character in the series until the reveal of humanity beyond the walls. He single-handedly kept the Titans and enemies in check and was a force to be reckoned with.

Without him, Zeke would have taken away Eren, and the Survey Corps would not have been able to discover the truth about humanity’s existence.

Levi also took down Annie when she almost killed Eren in Eren 1, and he has been the guiding figure for Mikasa, Connie, and Jean in the series.

Some fans believe he was so strong that Isayama had to purposely nerf him to progress the story, as an excellent Levi would have turned the sides on Yeagerist all alone.

Even Zeke would not have gotten much ahead in his plans if Levi could have been in his usual form; however, due to the point-blank range blast he suffered, he lost a lot of power and strength.
